Practical value of the results for society and economy.

New nanocomposites for protective coatings with increased indicators of physical and mechanical, thermophysical, anticorrosive characteristics and hydroabrasive wear resistance have been created. The results obtained in the project provide a solution to an important scientific problem in the field of materials science – protection of long-dimensional surfaces of shaped equipment of marine and river transport from corrosion and hydroabrasive effect through the use of new nanocomposites modified by ultrasonic treatment.

 For the first time, the effect of ultrasonic dispersion of epoxy compositions with nanoadditives on the properties and performance characteristics of epoxy composite materials was studied. Ultrasonic treatment provides uniform filler distribution in materials, improved wetting of nanoparticles and activation of binder macromolecules to interfacial interaction, which improves the adhesion and cohesion properties of composites.

  On the basis of the conducted researches and the obtained results, there have been created new composite materials and coatings on their basis with the forecasted performance characteristics for protection of the equipment of sea and river transport against corrosion and wear-out, and also with possibility to restore the damaged surfaces of the equipment. Technological regulations for coating parts of deadwood complexes and hulls of vessels operating under conditions of influence of aggressive environments in dynamic loads have been developed. A new method of forming epoxy composites by pre-treatment of compositions with nanofillers by ultrasound is proposed, which allows to improve the physical-mechanical and thermophysical properties of composite materials.

Integration into production and the world scientific space.

The results of the development were implemented at the following companies: PE Engineering Bureau Corvet (Ukraine, Kherson) – to improve the anti-corrosion properties of the surfaces of technological equipment, including sea and river transport (deck mechanisms, deck elements, superstructures, hull); LECH-POL DYSTRYBUCJA and Mechanika Pojazdowa (Poland) – to protect surfaces of vehicles operating under the influence of aggressive environments and alternating temperatures; onboard M/V Sabada of the shipowner company Avrey Commerce Ltd. (Seychelles); ship repair enterprise LLC Shipyard 1930 (Ukraine, Kherson) to protect and restore elements of auxiliary equipment of ships.

    Cooperation agreements have been signed for further research in the world scientific space with the following organizations:

  • Belarusian State Technological University (Belarus) (Cooperation Agreement dd. 27.11.18);
  • Polymer Institute SAS (Slovakia) (Cooperation Agreement dd. 22.02.19);
