Kherson State Maritime Academy appeals to the international maritime, scientific, educational communities, staff, cadets, students and pupils, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies of Ukraine regarding criminal actions of the occupation authorities in Kherson. According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Academy was temporarily relocated to Odesa. At present, distance learning is provided at the Academy, Maritime College and Professional Maritime Lyceum. Cadets, students and pupils receive national diplomas. Due to the lack of green corridors, a large part of the staff of the Academy and its state unique training facilities remained in occupied Kherson. On June 17, 2022, the occupation authorities introduced the “new rector” Dmytro Kruhlyi, the employee of the Academy. The occupiers announced the dismissal of all workers and offered to work under the new government. The Academy administration emphasizes that all cadets, students, pupils and employees of the Academy and its structural subdivisions continue to study and work at the Ukrainian state institution and receive all social guarantees. Employees, expressing desire to work with the occupation authorities, will be dismissed. All educational documents, issued on behalf of the “new institution” under the internationally recognized name of Kherson State Maritime Academy, will have nothing in common with the Ukrainian state institution existing for over 100 years. At this difficult time, the staff of the Academy, Maritime College and Professional Maritime Lyceum remains faithful to Ukraine and will take all necessary measures to protect the rights of education applicants.
