In 2021, a graduate student of the Department of Transport Technologies and Mechanical Engineering T.V. Chernyavska at the State University of Infrastructure and Technology (Kyiv) defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of knowledge 27 Transport in the specialty 275 Transport Technologies (doctoral advisors: doctor of technical sciences, professor A.V. Buketov, doctor of technical sciences, professor O.V. Sharko).
Inventive work: every year about ten patents for inventions and utility models are added to the achievements of the teachers of department. The most successful inventors of department are professors A.V. Buketov (over 100 patents of Ukraine for inventions and utility models), V.O. Nastasenko (over 100 patents of Ukraine and Russia for inventions and utility models), V.O. Protsenko (over 60 patents of Ukraine and Russia for inventions and utility models). Other teachers of department also have a significant number of patents: professors О.О. Sapronov, О.В. Sharko, K.M. Klevtsov, Associate Professors I.A. Seliverstov, O.V. Akimov, M.V. Brailo.
Scientific work of cadets. Cadets are involved in the scientific work of the department since its establishment. Teachers of department take part in the All-Ukrainian student scientific conference “Modern problems of maritime transport and maritime safety” as members of the organizing committee and scientific supervisors of cadets. Scientific work of the cadets is supervised by professors A.V. Buketov, В.О. Nastasenko, В.О. Protsenko and senior lecturer V.L. Aleksenko. The results of scientific work performed by cadets are the basis for the preparation of master’s theses.
The main indicator of the high level of scientific work of cadets and students is their speeches at scientific conferences at the national and international level. The high level of developments of cadets is confirmed by the diplomas received at All-Ukrainian competitions of student’s scientific works. In particular, under the guidance of professor V.O. Nastasenko, a set of works dedicated to non-traditional energy sources of ship and stationary power plants has been done. The results of these works are always reported at competitions of student research papers. Best cadets have the opportunity to enter the graduate school of KSMA, which will allow to rejuvenate the teaching staff of the department and improve its qualification level. In order to effectively conduct scientific research work of teachers and cadets, relations with the leading educational and scientific institutions of Ukraine, with shipowners, manufacturers and repairmen of ships, ship machines and mechanisms are being developed.
