The classroom is designed for theoretical training of students/cadets in the field of ship security. The requirements for the provisions of the Chapters of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as amended, are considered.
Laboratory “Medical aid on board the ship”classroom 225 (1)
The laboratory is designed for theoretical training of students/cadets in the field of minimum standards of competence in the field of basic and first aid and medical care on board the ship, practical skills training in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),immobilization of damaged limbs, stopping bleeding, assistance at operations, disabling and other issues according to the requirements Model Courses 1. 13, 1.14, 1.15, international rules for medical assistance on board.
“Fire Fighting on board the ship” classroom 227 (1)
Fire Fighting on board the ship and crew survival – organized, energetic and qualified actions of ship crew in case of emergency conditions in order to eliminate or reduce their negative impact on ship security, people and cargo.
This article describes how to use fire extinguishers, waterproof and gasproof – hatches, doors, openings and other shutters installed on the structural elements of the ship in order to prevent water and gas from penetrating through them.
Training Laboratory “Fire range” (1)
Consists of 2 containers (40 feet and 20 feet) that are converted for firefighting training. Containers are equipped with a sprinkler system, allow to keep fire in the engine room, in the living room, carry out training on escaping from a smoky room.
This laboratory helps to develop cadets’ skills in general organization and tactics of firefighting on board in accordance with the requirements of Section A-VI / 3 of Code (as amended) and recommendations of the IMO Model Course 2.03 Advanced Fire Fighting.
The simulator allows to develop skills of fire fighting on board, organization and training of fire parties, testing of equipment and systems for detection and extinguishing of fire, investigation and preparation of notifications of incidents of fire.
This simulator allows for practical and theoretical training of students/cadets with the further formation of the following competencies:
Supervising firefighting operations on ships;
Organizing and training of fire teams;
Inspection and maintenance of systems and equipment for fire detection and extinguishing; Investigation and preparation of notifications about fire-related identities.
Training complex “Collective rescue equipment on board the ship” Water station
Location of the laboratory – water station of KSMA. The laboratory includes simulators: a free fall life boat simulator with a sloop-beam for launching a boat, a high-speed inflatable lifeboat simulator with a stationary motor and a set of oars.
Equipment certified by the Registry of Shipping of Ukraine.
The free-fall life boat simulator allows students/cadets and seamen to develop skills required to launch, operate and install a free-fall life boat in accordance with the requirements of the STCW, as amended, section A-VI/2, Table A-VI/2-1.
The equipment of the simulator allows to carry out trainings in the following directions:
free fall life boat (introductory course);
free fall life boat control.
The rescue boat allows practical and theoretical training of students/cadets and seamen in accordance with the requirements of Section A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code (as amended) and recommendations of IMO Model Course 1. 24 “Rescue boat specialists” for the following competencies:
Understanding of the construction, maintenance, repair and equipment of rescue boat;
control of installed lowering equipment and devices during launching and hoisting;
command of a rescue boat with standard equipment during launching and hoisting;
command of the rescue boat after lowering;
operation of the engine of the rescue boat.
Gym №1
The total area of 285 m2 (length 21 m, width 13.5 m) is equipped with gymnastic walls, suspension rope, sports benches, trampoline bars, basketball boards with rings and volleyball stands with a net. Students/cadets have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in physical education in the classes of physical education and sport clubs.
Laboratory “Safety of labor”

The laboratory examines the safety of navigation, production processes in the maritime transport, including the services of operation and life when we are using shipboard equipment. Issues of electrical safety and fire safety are considered in detail.
Laboratory equipment. Devices for measuring noise and vibrations, magnetic and electrostatic fields, which are used in laboratory work for students/cadets can be used by the audience of the courses to improve their qualifications for the ship’s floating facility.
