On November 15, 2023, the All-Ukrainian scientific webinar “Innovative learning technologies for effective maritime communication” was held at Kherson State Maritime Academy.
The webinar was attended by 46 persons – educators from maritime educational institutions of Ukraine: National University “Odesa Maritime Academy”, Danube Institute of National University “Odesa Maritime Academy”, Kyiv Vocational College of Maritime and River Fleet and Transport Technologies of State University of Infrastructure and Technologies, Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology – IMarEST Odesa Branch, Pervomaisk Educational and Scientific Institute of Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University.
In her welcome speech to the participants, Valentyna Kudriavtseva, head of the English Language Department for Deck Officers, emphasized that the webinar provided an excellent opportunity for discussions and exchange of ideas on the problems facing Maritime English instructors in the current period of rapid changes in the global maritime industry.
The panel speakers prepared the following presentations:
“Effective speaking activities for online learning” Kseniia Boiko, Yuliia Klopka;
“Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) as a Training Need” Olena Frolova, Alina Vid (teacher of Szczecin Maritime Academy, Poland);
“Developing soft skills of future seafarers” Svitlana Barsuk.
Natalia Ohorodnyk, Tamara Pindosova, Olha Tokarieva acted as moderators in the discussion groups.
All webinar participants noted the excellent work of our colleagues in organizing and conducting the scientific event at a high level.
