On the Open Doors Day, which took place at Kherson State Maritime Academy on December 4, 2021, Head of Department of Practice, Certification and Employment of KSMA Oleksandr Solovey gave a presentation “Admission to Kherson State Maritime Academy is the Key to a Successful Career”.
Applicants and their parents learned about the employment prospects of the Academy’s cooperation with foreign and domestic shipping and crewing companies and with the International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC).
IMEC brings together more than 250 shipping and crewing companies, which manage 15,000 ships. This year, for the first time in the history of maritime educational institutions of Ukraine, IMEC is introducing a sponsorship cadet programme, which ensures the provision of guaranteed practice and employment to KSMA cadets in foreign shipping companies recognized worldwide.
“According to the statistics of previous years, about 70% of cadets are employed onboard ships of foreign companies,” said Oleksandr Solovey. – Currently, the academy has reached a qualitatively new level in the organization of practical training and further employment. All cadets have the opportunity to get a guaranteed job and a decent salary in the world’s famous shipping companies.”
