She graduated from Kherson State University in 2012 in the specialty “Humanities. Language and Literature (English)” and was qualified as a lecturer of English Language and Foreign Literature.
2012-2019 – teacher of “Maritime English”, “English for professional purpose”, “Foreign language” at Maritime College of the Kherson State Maritime Academy (department of English for ship engineers).
Since 2020 – Ph.D. in the specialty 13.00.04 “Theory and Methodology of Professional Education”.
2019-2023 – teacher of English Language Department for Maritime Officers (abridged programme) at Kherson State Maritime Academy.
June 19, 2019 – 1st place at the All-Ukrainian competition on the use of one’s own mobile devices in the educational process (SNU order No. 0380-VI dated June 19, 2019), research paper “Application of augmented and virtual reality technology in the conditions of conducting a QR code quest during formation of foreign language competence of future seafarers”.
She graduated Maritime college of Kherson State Maritime Academy in 2020 and obtained qualification: Junior specialist degree, program subject area River and Sea Transport, educational program Operation of Ship Propulsion Installations, professional qualification Ship Engineer (Junior Specialist’s Diploma E20 #121763).
Since 2020 – head of International Affairs Department at Kherson State Maritime Academy.

Since 2025 – Associate Professor of English in Marine Engineering Department.
She teaches the discipline “English Language (for professional purposes)”. Teaching experience in education institutions – 13 years.
Alona Yurzhenko is the author / co-author of more than 150 scientific articles published in collections included in the list of professional publications of Ukraine, 11 of which are indexed in Scopus and WOS, as well as publications in collections of abstracts of international conferences in the specialty.
