Guided by the principles of the communicative approach and student-centered learning, classes are designed to help students develop essential soft skills \u2013 teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and intercultural communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enhance the quality of English language training, the teaching staff have developed 9 online courses in Maritime English (Bachelor\u2019s level):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>While Ashore<\/li><li>Welcome Aboard<\/li><li>Seven Seas Ahead<\/li><li>Lucky Voyage<\/li><li>Steady Course<\/li><li>Sail Safe<\/li><li>Watch Out<\/li><li>Catch the Wind<\/li><li>Get it Done<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Master\u2019s level, two advanced Business English courses were launched:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ExtraMiler<\/li><li>Endeavour<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To promote individual learning paths, Supplementary courses are offered on Moodle, enabling students to enhance their listening and reading comprehension, enrich vocabulary, and refine grammar skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teaching staff have regularly explored and integrated digital innovations and AI technologies into their teaching practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series of methodological webinars focused on improving online and blended learning practices include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Communication Strategies for the Online Environment<\/li><li>Distance Teaching and Learning: Useful Tips for Making It Work on Zoom<\/li><li>Effective Speaking Tasks for Online Learning<\/li><li>Technical Skills Development to Improve Lesson Effectiveness<\/li><li>Implementing Innovative Approaches and Learning Methods in Maritime Education<\/li><li>Interactivity Strategies for e-Learning<\/li><li>Integration of Generative Technologies (AI, Visualization, Chatbots) into English Language Teaching in Maritime Institutions<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department staff have developed a set of interactive e-courses on the LMS Moodle, utilizing innovative teaching approaches and various digital tools to enhance online interaction during synchronous Zoom meetings and provide students with a wide range of self-study materials.
