Scientific projects:
In 2020, the department organized a research laboratory Development of Decision Support Systems, Ergatic and Automated Ship Traffic Control Systems by Rector’s order of 27.08.20 No. 168.
Dissertation:
By the decision of KSMA Academic Council No. 6 30.01.2020, the topic of the doctoral dissertation “Theoretical and practical foundations of creating decision support systems in navigation” was approved. The author is Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Professor A. Ben. The topic doctoral dissertation “Theoretical and practical foundations of the creation of ergatic systems of critical application in maritime transport” was approved. The author is Associate Professor P. Nosov.

In 2020, the teachers of the department prepared and published 17 publications in the state and foreign scientific journals, included in databases Scopus and WoS Core Collection, as well as 11 publications in other foreign scientific publications and journals.

In 2020, the teachers of the department prepared and published 61 publications. Including 1 monograph. Also, the scientific and pedagogical workers of the department took part in 10 conferences at various levels and presented 44 reports, including:
XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Information and Innovative Technologies in Transport” (MINTT 2020), which took place on May 27-29, Kherson, 15 reports were presented.
VII International Scientific and Practical Conference ” Safety of life in transport and manufacturing – education, science, practice ” (SLA – 2019), which took place on September 9-12, Kherson, 13 reports were presented.
X All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Conference “Modern problems of maritime transport and safety of navigation”, November 19, 2020. The teachers of the department and students (14 students – participants of the conference) prepared 14 reports.
At the end of 2020, the teachers of the department took an active part in XI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern approaches to high efficient use of transport”, on December 3-10, 2020. It was held by Odessa Maritime Academy, Izmail. Participation in international projects:
In January 2021, Associate Professor, Deep Sea Captain Makarchuk D.V. became an expert of working group of International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) with a detailed view of STCW.
