Regulations on Admissions Commission
KSMA has cooperation agreements with many shipping and crewing companies around the world. Marlow Navigation and Columbia Ship Management are very well-known and famous. The cooperation KSMA has been ensuring throughout years, doesn’t only guarantees the internships and employment for many cadets and graduates of the KSMA, but also contributes to the continuous development of training laboratories, facilities and resources of the academy.
Requirements and framework of reference for the admission motivation letter composition
UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION
Full-time study and extramural forms are available at the expense of the state budget and at the expense of individuals and legal entities for the degree of “BACHELOR” in the subject area of “TRANSPORT” in the specialty “River and sea transport” and specializations:
Navigation and seagoing vessels handling
Management of ship technical equipment and systems
Operation of ship electric equipment and automation means
Undergraduate education (11 years) (training time – 4 years) admission is carried out on a competitive basis according to the results of the certificates of external independent testing (EIT) obtained in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 in the following subjects:
1. Ukrainian language (or Ukrainian language and literature) – required
2. Mathematics (field-specific level) – required
3. Physics or English (optional).

ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE-BASED EDUCATION

For applicants for fee-based places, EIT certificates are required:

Bachelor’s, Master’s degree-based (specialist academic level) – training time – 1 year 4 months.
Admission for the Master’s degree takes place in the form of a common entrance examination in English language and a career-related entrance exam.

- Installation and design of ship machines and mechanisms

“APPLIED MECHANICS” and professional curriculums:
- Maintenance of machine tools with software control and robotic systems
- Welding production
based on basic general secondary education (9 years) (training time – 4 years) admission is carried out on a competitive basis according to the results of the entrance exams in Ukrainian language and Mathematics.
