Training simulators are used to review basics of theoretical course of conventional methods of navigation as well as for education and training by means of modern automated navigation aids.
The laboratory is equipped with 8 workplaces including small cartographic tables for two cadets and an instructor’s workplace, navigation charts, manuals. There are 16 workplaces that can be used for individual and group training, self-training and work in automated knowledge assessment system. Laboratory equipment meets the requirements of DNV/IMO classification, type C2.
Disciplines taught in the laboratory: “Ship Handling”, “Theory and Practice of Ship Motion”, “International Rules of Collision Prevention at Sea and Use of Radar and Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA) for Collision Avoidance”, “Navigational Information Systems and use of ARPA for Preventing Collisions at Sea”.
