The project aims to update and develop new comprehensive & interdisciplinary courses focused on innovative and sustainable maritime solutions, as well as ensure the full modernisation of existing courses to align them with global green initiatives and the evolving needs of the maritime industry. SMarTAI will foster strong partnerships between higher education institutions and key industry stakeholders. It will promote innovation & green approaches and contribute to optimised & cleaner maritime operations. Through a series of targeted courses, capacity building activities & online professional course development, SMarTAI aims to disseminate valuable knowledge & best practice in advanced AI technology & sustainable practices, reaching a wider audience and ensuring that individuals from diverse backgrounds, experience levels & minorities can benefit from training. The project is strategically positioned to address the urgent need for smart & sustainable practices that increase the efficiency, safety & environmental sustainability of the maritime industry, while providing a comprehensive approach to maritime education that aligns with the United Nations SDGs. By preparing a skilled workforce capable of implementing and managing these advances, SMarTAI will play a critical role in transforming the maritime sector & advancing the sustainable development agenda, enhancing graduate employability and ensuring the modernisation of the maritime industry to meet today’s needs and challenges.
