On August 27, 2026, Olena Frolova, Associate Professor of the English Language Department for Deck Officers at KSMA, participated in the webinar “Digital Tools and Recent Innovations for Maritime Education and Training,”organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ DigiMar project.
The DigiMar project, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Violeta Jurkovič (University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, Slovenia), focuses on the use of digital educational tools to strengthen maritime communication skills and contribute to safer communication at sea.
During the webinar, the participants discussed the results of the project implementation, highlighting positive outcomes and exchanging experiences with colleagues – Maritime English teachers.
Particular attention was paid to enhancing the professional communicative competence of maritime professionals through the standardization of communication practices, including closed-loop communication procedures and the use of standardized message markers and phrases.
