Between December 19 and 26, 2026, Department of English Language for Deck Officers and Department of English Language in Ship Engineering held the first two stages of the orientation webinar on the departments’ pages in Moodle. The purpose of the event was to identify prospects for unifying the placement, form, and structure of teaching materials into a single, rational system that eliminates excessive diversity and simplifies use and interaction.
K. BOIKO, V. KUDRIAVTSEVA, O. LITIKOVA, and M. OHIIENKO introduced the faculty members to the teaching materials of each department: their structure, content, and features of lesson-by-lesson arrangement in thematic modules. Particular attention was paid to existing differences, opportunities for individual work with higher education students, number of tasks in tests, and number of attempts to complete them.
The next stage of the orientation webinar is intended to familiarize the teaching staff of both departments with the teaching materials of the abridged English language course for future deck officers, marine engineers, and electrical engineers.
