The staff of English Language Department for Deck Officers actively participate in career guidance activities, promoting maritime education among young people.
In October 2024, under the guidance of Associate Professor Svitlana Barsuk, cadets of Group 151 Mykhailo KRAVCHENKO, Oleh ALYEKSIENKO, Valeriia RATUSHNA and Academy graduate Mykyta SOROKA (3Off) had a meeting with 11th grade students of Kherson Secondary School No. 36, during which they shared their experience in choosing a profession and educational institution. They spoke about work at sea and the role of Kherson State Maritime Academy in training young professionals; how the academy promotes the development of its students’ potential and supports them on their way to career achievements. In January 2025, Bohdan NAHRYBELNYI, Assistant of the department, held a career guidance event at Educational Complex No. 9 of the Kherson Maritime Council, where he provided students with meaningful information about studying and entering Kherson State Maritime Academy. The assistant spoke in detail about the benefits and prospects of student life, sessions in the training centre, the use of navigation equipment, as well as the specifics and features of the industry.
