On February 6, 2025, the English Language Department for Marine Engineering successfully conducted the seminar “Skills-Building with AI in Teaching English to Future Marine Engineers.” The event gathered participants to discuss the development of key skills for future maritime professionals and the possibilities of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process.

The seminar featured presentations across themes: “A Skill-Based Approach in Teaching English to Future Marine Engineers,” Litikova Oleksandra, Uliana Liashenko; “Essential Soft Skills for Future Marine Engineers,” Afanasievska Iryna; “Key Soft Skills for Future Marine Electrical Engineers,” Ohiyenko Maryna; “Using AI Technologies for Teaching English,” Pohorletska Nadiia; “Harnessing AI Technologies for Learning English,” Solovey Ganna; “Benefits and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in English Language Teaching,” Delgas Kateryna; “AI and Academic Integrity,” Ohorodnyk Natalia.

The seminar provided a platform for discussing contemporary trends in Maritime English teaching and exploring ways to apply AI tools in the learning process. Insightful presentations and active discussions enriched participants’ perspectives on preparing future maritime professionals.
