On June 15-16, 2023, teachers of the department had advanced training as part of Scientific Sandpit “Professional Development of English language teachers in higher education” and participated in the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Actual problems of teaching educational components of social and humanitarian sphere in higher education”.
The work of Scientific Sandpit began with Kick-off Meeting the purpose of which was to exchange scientific and practical achievements of the participants. The meeting was moderated by Iryna Shvetsova.
During two-day event mentors and co-organizers from the University of Plymouth conducted a number of webinars and workshops:
– “Teaching and Learning in an International Context” Helen Bowstead, Christie Pritchard
– “From traditional active learning to online active learning for an international audience” Priska Schoenborn, Oliver Webb
– “Designing meaningful assessment tasks for the EAP classroom” Dr Patrick McMahon, Margaret Russell
During Peer Meeting, the participants exchanged opinions and their own experience and displayed the results of their interaction in the form of online posters.
